SARANGI

Sarangi is a folk Nepalese string instrument that encompasses a long followed culture. It represents a part of Nepalese music and people known as Gandarba/Gaine. Gandarba is a community as well as caste which belongs to the Indo-Aryan ethnic group from central hilly region of Nepal. Sarangi with Gaine depicts songs of national legacy and history. The music has always praised the kings, prime ministers, national heroes and Nepal. Gaine travel from village to village, singing about what they saw on their journeys and the lives of the people they encountered on their way. Sarangi carries a great history and never to forget it has passed on the culture and music from generations.
